Thank you for expressing interest in becoming an affiliate faculty member at the Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University. We are proud of our innovative curriculum and our outstanding students, and appreciate the support of our affiliate faculty.
We are a community based medical school and are distinctly aware of what an important role our affiliate hospitals and faculty play in our training program.
We hope that you can become a member of our strong team of medical educators and that you find your role with the medical students meaningful and rewarding.

Appointment Process
Please submit the items below in order for your formal appointment process to begin. If you have any questions or concerns during the process, please contact us by email or phone.
Once your appointment has been reviewed by the CAP Committee, you will receive a letter stating your faculty status in the mail.
A cover letter addressed to Acting Dean Jennifer W. Caceres expressing your interest in teaching.
Provide us with your most up-to-date curriculum vitae (CV).
Provide two non-partner letters of recommendation.

Research FAQ
Affiliate faculty may serve as co-investigators (Co-I) on studies in collaboration with an FAU-employed faculty member serving as Principal Investigator (PI). Affiliate faculty may not serve as PI on protocols submitted to the FAU IRB per the Division of Research Principal Investigator Eligibility policy. Under special circumstances, affiliate faculty may serve as PI with approval from FAU's Vice President for Research.
